Alabama ranks first in the number of dialysis patients per capita in the United States. Although there is no cure for kidney disease, the Foundation provides educational resources, financial assistance and organ donation information to assist patients every step of their journey and live prosperous lives.

I didn’t know at the time, but my journey with kidney dialysis would eventually lead me to the Alabama Kidney Foundation. When I first started dialysis, it was a scary time for me. Before and after my transplant surgery, the Foundation was there for me to help cover the cost for doctor visits, transportation and medication. The organization was a true blessing to me when I didn’t have anywhere else to turn.
