The Genthner family is honored to serve as the first-ever Honorary Chairs for the Alabama Kidney Foundation, a distinction they proudly share as a family for the Wiregrass Area. “We are excited to sponsor the 50th Anniversary of the 2025 Wiregrass Area Kidney Walk Celebration and to partner with the Alabama Kidney Foundation to support Alabama’s kidney patients,” said Burke Genthner.
In addition to their philanthropic efforts, the Genthner family is deeply rooted in business and community leadership. Key Hose Fire Corporation, founded by Burke’s father, has been producing premium, American-made fire hoses for the past 36 years within the Wiregrass Area.

2025 Honorary Patient Chair, Alexa Mills
Alexa Mills will serve as the 2025 Wiregrass Area Alabama Kidney Foundation Patient Chair. Diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy at age 14, she has navigated kidney disease through many of her life’s milestones. In July 2024, her mother donated her left kidney, leading to an improvement in Alexa’s health. She is now excited to continue her commitment to helping others affected by kidney disease and raise awareness about the resources provided by the Alabama Kidney Foundation.
The 2025 honorary chairs invite everyone to join the Wiregrass Kidney Walk on April 12, 2025, to support kidney health awareness and raise funds for those in need. Together, we can the 50th Anniversary Kidney Walk Celebration a resounding success.
